IMPORTANT SERVICE NOTICE
Dear Valued Customer:
Beginning February 2008, the FCC will allow cellular carriers to discontinue analog cell service. The industry term for this date is called the "Analog Sunset." As a result, our analog wireless carrier (Aeris.net) has notified us that they will discontinue support for analog cellular data communications on or shortly after January 31st, 2008.
What this means to you (the bad news): If any of your wireless monitoring devices (RTUs) have ESN numbers that are in the format 214-######, these utilize the analog cellular network to transmit alerts from your equipment to our servers, and therefore will not be in service after January 31st, 2008. (ESNs that begin with 100 or 101 are not affected). Your ESN number can be found on your email alerts and looks like this:
What this means to you (the good news): CriticalWireless has a new and much improved digital cellular remote monitoring platform, called the CW5000. The CW5000 utilizes the GSM digital cellular communications, which is a worldwide standard. Major US carriers such as Cingular and TMobile have standardized on GSM, so this technology is here to stay, and the networks are being expanded every day. In addition, we also recently introduced M2Web, a full service web-based application for data visualization, alarming and notification setup, notification list management, mapping and tracking, report generation, and data archiving and download. Use of M2Web is included in any service subscription (although there are some premium features available at an additional cost).
Digital Upgrade Program: For our analog customers, we are offering a limited time digital upgrade program that makes it easy and cost effective to Go Digital. Most upgrading customers will be able to use the remainder of the monitoring service subscription available at the time they replace their analog unit with the CW5000. By upgrading now and taking advantage of special upgrade pricing, you can ensure that your service will continue uninterrupted. Plus, you will have access to all of the enhanced features of the CW5000 and the M2Web Portal.
To get details of the upgrade program available to you, or to see a live web demo of the M2Web platform, please use this online form and we will be able to help you.
